Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan, born Kildare town County Kildare on 16 March 1984. Bea's father Brian is an equine veterinarian who committed suicide when she was only three years old. Bea didn't learn how her father died until after she turned thirteen. She chose the stage name Bea to pay tribute to her father who passed away. Bea also wrote an article published in The Guardian on her family's suicide story. Bea (and her younger sister Sinead) was raised in the same home as Helen Moloney, a instructor and trainer of jockeys who was a professional jockey. They were obsessed with races and horses. In her youth Bea worked as an assistant tour guide in the Irish National Stud however she was aware from an early age that she was not interested in the racing industry as a job, and loved performing.
